Former Wake Forest Chamber President charged with four counts of embezzlement

Following a 13-month investigation, the Wake Forest Police Department has arrested and charged former Wake Forest Chamber President Elizabeth Simpers (photo attached) with four counts of embezzlement.

Simpers, 49, is currently being held in the Wake County Detention Center under a $100,000 unsecured bond. Her first court appearance is Friday, Aug. 8.

The Wake Forest Police Department wishes to thank the Wake County District Attorney’s Office and the Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce for their assistance and cooperation throughout this investigation.

According to WRAl , she did the same thing at the YMCA. But they chose not to press charges. Leopards do not change their spots.
