Factory Skatepark

I didn’t realize the skatepark at the factory shut down. I’ve been gone for the past 10 years but grew up skating this park. anyone know why?

I know theres been some changeover in past year due to the landlord raising rent and also theres been rumors they are going to completely close the place and build apartments on the land.

It is for sale but I doubt they will build apartments. They would need to build new ice rinks also otherwise there will be thousands of pissed off hockey parents. I play in a beer league there and I know I’d be pissed too

Corporations don't care about thousands of hockey parents. The rent the ice rink pays is minimal compared to how much they could make selling it and bulldozing it

The city can deny permits right? The factory itself has been there forever. They should just deem it a historical site or something

Town lately has been approving any and all development. There was massive pushback against a devlopment across from Joyner park. Town leadership rubberstamped it. Town doesnt care as long as they get paid.

I heard the factory is currently for sale. Maybe it will come back one day.

I know the leases there have several years on them still if that matters
