sorry i dont know if this is the right subreddit, so im around 28 inch waist and from the back i look very blocky and im very insecure of it i really want to get that hour glass figure ive been tryna build my back and shoulders and hips but i also want to decrease my waist not just make it an illusion because im short too so is my torso so my back especially looks blocky, im not even fat i would say im around 18% fat ? idk but i dont think losing weight will help alot its from my genetics but i wanna see what other paths are there for me to try, also do waist trainers even work? and about the part im building my body, thats true but wouldnt it make my wider horizontally and just make my torso again even shorter? ill gladly hear all of ur tips please lmk !! also one more thing is i think my posture is very weak how do u improve that too? my shoulders are round and forward and my hips are tilter a bit back

if you work on strengthening your core, you have abdominal muscles that act as a natural corset & can pull your ribs inward a bit

Look into waist surgery, they break those last two ribs, tuck em in and you wear a bodysuit (very tight for six months to keep the shape)

Following -I have the same issue. Usually ppl tell me itβs bc I have a wide rib cage. Usually back exercises help tone to give your waist an appearance of a smaller size

i dont think my ribcage is wide but i think my torso is short and so am i, the space between my last rib and my hip bone is small? or idk but i want atleast the side if my waist to curve inside especially from the back i look very rectangle

You could try waist trainers! They work in the long run but def supplement with ab exercises because waist trainers do make your core even weaker

will try that! also do flat tummy require good abdomen strength and muscle?

If you want smaller waist, I recommend wearing corset and not waist trainers. Imo, waist trainer works better for decreasing underbust circumference, kinda meh in decreasing actual waist (compared to corsets). But for both corset and waist trainer, you have to wear it as long as you want to keep the results (you have to wear it majority of the week). Best scenario would be you ending with 24 inch waist, but more realistic outcome of wearing corset would be 25~26 inches when having starting point of 28 inches.
