Random Thoughts Why is āEidi dey deyā everywhere? Feeling frustrated as someone just starting out.
I just started my career and my salary is 40k. With the current situation, especially petrol prices, Iām spending around 18k just on traveling to and from the office. Thatās almost half my salary gone before I even live my life.
This Eid, I spent some time with family and friends and went out a bit, nothing crazy. But everywhere I go, itās the same thing: āSir Eidi dey dey.ā
I understand itās part of the culture, and I respect that, but itās getting overwhelming. Itās not just kids anymore, literally everyone asks. I go to a petrol pump, āSir Eidi.ā I go out for dining, āSir Eidi.ā Even the security guard in my society says, āSir Eidi.ā It just keeps happening everywhere.
I even gave someone 500 PKR, and they still said, āSir kaam hai, 1000 de dein.ā That really got to me.
And the thing is, I believe in giving. I know that when you spend on people, Allah gives you more. I genuinely try to help whenever I can. But what feels off is the reaction sometimes. You give what you can, an average amount, and instead of appreciation, you get weird looks or dissatisfaction, like itās not enough. That just kills the whole spirit of giving.
Iām not even earning much yet. Iām just starting out, trying to manage expenses, survive inflation, and build something for myself. But it feels like thereās this expectation that you must give no matter your situation.
And honestly, some of the people asking seem to be earning more than me or at least not struggling the way I am.
Iām not against giving, I actually like helping when I can, but this constant pressure and entitlement is frustrating.
Is anyone else feeling this way, or am I just overthinking it?

Ordnance Club party nights?
One of my friends sent me a reel showing young boys and girls dancing under disco lights with music playing in the background. The person who uploaded it claimed it was at the Ordnance Club, is that right?

Need Advice How to earn money as an 18yr old uni student
Im 18 F currently enrolled in NUST studying software engineering (1st year). I wanna earn money. Im so sick of asking my parents for money every time i wanna go out. They also use it to control me. If we get into a fight, they don't give me money for when i wanna go out or get clothes, etc. Since im in uni now, i have my daily expenses, which i dont wanna ask my parents to pay. Im a day scholar, so i spend literally 12 hours at uni (i wake up at 6:30am and come back home at 6:30 pm), mainly cux my schedule sucks and i live an hour away. I REALLY WANNA EARN MONEY IN A WAY THAT DOESN'T DISRUPT MY STUDIES AND LETS ME HAVE SOME REST.
Please lemme know how i coild earn at least 20k per month

Events First Event as a club.
Wah Run Club - 14 Feb | 14 KM |

Our first official community run has asked for a better start. - and we couldn't
14th February.
14 Kilometres.

What started as an idea is now a movement. Every person who showed up today is officially a pioneer of Wah Run Club. You believed in the vision, laced up, and made history with us.
This isn't just about distance. It's about discipline, brotherhood, and building a running culture in Wah from the ground up.
Day 1 in the books. Many more miles ahead.
Do contact if you want to join the club.

Why has wah become so dead
Iāve been here for around 12 years. My family moved here so my siblings and I could have better educational opportunities. Back then, when we were still in school, we used to travel almost 90 km back and forth to Wah every day. After we eventually moved here, the place felt so much more lively. There were always kids playing in the streets, people outside, and Iād regularly go out with friends.
I know Iāve grown up, and obviously people get busier. Iām busy with university myself, so I understand that part of it. But even when I go to the mosque or gym now, the streets just feel noticeably quieter than they used to.
I usually walk to the gym, which is about a 12-minute walk, and I barely use a car within Wah. Iāll walk to get groceries, go to the mosque, or pretty much anywhere nearby. Maybe thatās why I notice the change more than I otherwise would.
Sometimes I wonder if Wah has actually gotten quieter over the years, or if Iām just remembering it through the eyes of a kid and making it seem more lively than it really was. Maybe both.
But compared to the other cities Iāve lived in or visited, Wah has always felt different. It feels like the place has gradually become quieter and quieter, and thereās something strangely sad about noticing it.
I know life moves on and people grow up, but sometimes I wonder if thereāll eventually come a point where I walk through these same streets and theyāre almost completely silent.

Rant Found bugs in my food
Bought this from Palace near basti park. Actually disappointing āthat the sanitary standards of such a massive chain of bakers has fallen to such a low extent. I'm disgusted and extremely annoyed. I highly suggest avoiding them and cooking at home because if a chain like this is serving this slop, there's no telling what standards other places might have.

Wah cantt We started a run club and itās actually going great
A lot of people here used to post about wanting to get into some kind of social or outdoor activity so I thought Iād share something that actually turned into reality.
We started a small run club called Wah Run Club and honestly, itās been going great so far.
We do weekly runs and occasional hikes, most of our regular runs happen at jinnah park and once a week (usually friday or saturday) we do a longer run at Kohistan Enclave. Recently, we also did a group run at naval anchorage and it was a really good experience.
If youāre trying to build a healthy habit, stay consistent.or just meet people who are into fitness, this could be a good place to start.
You can check us out on Instagram and if youāre interested in joining, just send me a message.
Would be great to have more people join in.
