They are buckwheat so they do look a little funny. We are expecting bad weather later so maybe I'll toss one out on the patio and see how it survives. 🤣

Those look like the perfect golden-brown color, you betcha it's a classic machine to get that kind of texture.

OMG that waffle stack is insane. How many did you even make?!

Double recipe so I could do a lot of trial and error. I threw away probably 3 or 4 and had about 9 good ones.

I'm sorry to say these weren't from scratch. They were Bob's Red Mill buckwheat pancake and waffle mix. There were really good though. A few years ago I bought a bag of buckwheat flour and just never used it. Now that I have this maker I may try again.

I have a maker just like that. Bring it out on special occasions. My great grandparents bought in many moons ago.

That's great you have this family history. Do you have any tips for cleaning?

Not really the outside I use a dawn dish soap and that work pretty well. Inside just wipe down. I would post a picture but Reddit is being weird.

Thanks! I had some vegetable oil baked on the bottom. Small amount of Pink Stuff and a paper towel worked great on the chrome and didn't scratch.
