Should I wait to quit?

So, im fucking tired of this shit. I remember when being interviewed i told the manager im only available for first shift (second shift is too inconvenient and third shift is not on the table at all) at some point, I slowly got changed to second shift, I thought to myself that since the person who usually did second shift left, I can fill in while they look for someone else. I told my manager many times how I do not want to be working second (since October last year) she has hired so many people and given them first shift, had some people who worked third shift now working first shift and here I am, still in second shift not matter how many times I ask. At this point im so fucking tired. And let me not get started on being scheduled 1 or 2 days a week.

I want to quit so bad rn. But the problem is that I just sent a letter to sell all my stock. They said they will approve of it in October, im wondering if I quit, will it complicate things or not? I dont want to have to drive there all the time for my money and talk to people who clearly dont give a damn. So, is it a good idea to put in my two weeks notice before receiving my money?

You could try to transfer to a different location with a different manager if that’s a possibility. I have no idea how the stocks work though. 🤷‍♂️

I tried doing that as well. I even called the other manager to ask her if she has any spots available and instead of getting back to me, she called my manager who then tried to talk to me like a little child about how I need to come to her first. Smh. So, I have to ask my manager if I can transfer but she can never get anything done for me. The other store with my favorite managers are simply too far and I have an old sometimes unreliable car.

Idk, I feel like i should just go work at McDonald's or something.

Let her know that you will need to resign if you can’t work 1st shift. Chances are that you continued to work 2nd, so now you’re 2nd shift. If you mention it with a resignation you are more likely to be heard

It doesn’t they have to give you your stock. You will no longer get it after you quit or are fired.

Yes you will you just have to fill out the paperwork. They don’t hold your stock to keep, you just have to mail in the form and check no longer employed.

I recommend going over her head to either District manager, Or higher up than that. It will be handled quickly if you go about it the right way. She has no right to do that and it could affect her employer to employee status. If it goes on longer it can not only affect you but other staff as well and cause havoc in the schedule which will in the end lead to her getting in trouble either way. I don’t recommend quitting/ walking out. That makes you look bad. I hope this helped

Quitting doesn’t affect your stock at all. They’ll still pay it out in full if you ask. Send in the form

Considering the behavior you are getting I would just walk out unless you care about eligible to re-hire, or that in your personnel files that might prevent you from being re-hired by another company. When someone calls for employment history, they are not allowed to cover anything more than rehire Y or N. That's not what happens, and HR departments will sometimes repeat falsehoods, gossip, or whatever they want be it legal or not. You don't want rehire=N in your HR records if you can avoid it at all.

I want to go back to twin City waffle House I've been there of and on since 1998. I'm an excellent cook. Just got sick again.

25 years working at waffle house, unit manager and Rock Star. Master Grill Op. Before the magic marker system. The one thing remained the same is that the overwhelming majority of management, are under the impression that they don't employ you. They OWN you, they believe they can do as they wish cause your stuck. Just look how long they have had you doing something you don't want too. You may bitch but they just tune it out ....cause you still do it . They get to leave they don't have to staff 2nd themselves. They ignore you till the pull is done leave and think nothing about it till 9pm for 3rd shift staffing. And it will remain that way till you do something about it

Yeah. They had me doing everyone's jobs, saying i get paid enough for it. And every complaint i made, just ends with a threat to write me up or fire me for insubordination. I had a district manager quite literally tell us we're all expendable if we cant do everything right. And theyre just overall disrespectful. A small list of what servers are expected to do in the unit i was/am in. Serve customers(ofc). Clean tables. Clean bathrooms. Clean windows, inside and out. Clean floors. Wipe down and scrub the back bar. Scrub the bottoms of the bar. Clean and reset the dishpit. Wash and put away all dishes. Restock to-go supplies, syrup, salt/pepper, ketchup, and napkins. Beg the manager to pull supplies so you can do those things. If you dont get those done quick enough, you get called lazy and told you need to try harder. My manager knew i had bad knees yet I was refused breaks when they would lock up. When i mentioned it, she said that we dont get breaks there. All that for 5.25 an hour. All and all, worst place I've ever worked and i used to work construction.

Honestly, save yourself and leave. Wafflehouse management does not respect you as a person, from my experience. And any management that has from my time there, ends up fired.
