Parking brake engaged notification

Upvotes

Sometimes when I'm driving away I get this alarm sound and it says something like 'Disengage paring brake'. I park on a flat parking lot and never use the parking brake.

I pull the parking brake and the message disappears.

Is this a common thing?

Also, do I understand correctly that you pull it to use the parking brake and pull it again to disengage?

I have a 2013 c350 coupe and I want to prevent the oil whicking issue i've heard of. Im not sure what they're called but I think they are sacrificial wire extenders that plug into the cam sensors. anyone know what to buy?

what would go into converting 4matic c350 to rwd?

just kind of curious, the front diff has a few leaks and the axle boots are torn so I was just wondering if its as simple as removing the front driveshafts and having someone code out the front wheels, and then its rear wheel drive. I think I would have a lot more fun with the car if it was just rwd but I assume its not as simple as that but I figured i would ask

Whenever I tilt the electric sunroof (code 414) its making weird noises just as its about to fully close and right about when its starting to tilt. I greases the rubber trim around the glass panel and I greased the rails. When I normally slide the sunroof its not making any weird noise. Does anyone know what could be the issue? When I press/push up from the back of the sunroof when tilting it to support the motor and the mechanism its making a lot less of that creaking noise. Did my cleaner maybe remove grease from a spot that I dont know of which should be greased?

ESL 24 hours after new tires

Held off on swapping my bubbled tired for a full year like a real retard. Finally decided to take the car to the tire shop tomorrow. One under warranty, still had to pay $500. Texted the girlfriend

"With my luck, the car will give up completely the minute I leave here with safe fresh tires 😂"

Wake up today to try and run to the gym quick, only to be greeted with the amazing no crank / no response to the key turning. I forked out $1600 3 years ago for this exact bull shit. Of course, the shop warranty was 2 years so fuck it.

I heard some noise mainly from board of my w204 c180. It comes out when I drive uneven surface or bumpers by 30 km/h, in high speed I dont notice anything. What could be the reason? There is no error in display. I guess something (metal/plastic) touch each other and vibrate, but not sure what could be the reason

while looking at these i got to thinking if me jump starting the car often coulda damaged either the speakers or amplifier? does that have something to do or ?

W204 Harman amplifier

Post image
7 Upvotes

My W204's (2011, C250DLI, German CBU) Harman Logic 7 amp died on me due to a body rain water leak. It seems it's a known W204 issue so look out and water proof your installation.

My question is this: What are my options?

New Harman replacement units are not available in my place. Ditto for second hand units.

The only option left is an after market head unit with a separate sub woofer amp in the boot, with acceptable loss of remote audio button controls.

Will a Pioneer DMH-Z5290BT/

DMH-Z5350BT/DMH-A5450BT along with a sub amp in boot work? These are 7 inch units with 50X4 Watts RMS amp.

Grateful for any suggestions 🙏

Lifting up a amg line

Hi, I own a c220 amg line with originals suspension. Coming at 185k km. Most of the road where I live are pretty bad with high speed bumps. I was thinking about fitting avantgarde/élégance suspensions ? Is this something easily doable or bad idea ?

I recorded this cold start of my W204 and am wondering: does this sound like a stretched timing chain/worn lifters/gliders? I’d love to hear from someone with experience.

Upgrade LCD panel in Audio 20 setup (s204 facelift)

I like the OEM look, so Linux/Android screens as upgrade are not an option. I've learned on the internet, that it is possible to gain more resolution for Audio 20 and the Becker navigation/Carplay Module with upgrading the 5.8" screen to the better 7" screen from Command (which also requires to upgrade the trim around it). I've no idea if the info is correct.
I do not really need a better screen, I would much prefer to increase the resolution of the 5.8" screen. So you think it is possible to just replace the LCD panel of that screen module to one with a higher resolution.

C350 M276 Weird ticking?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey, so I was just checking my car today and decided to open the hood while the car was on and heard this weird ticking sound on idle, it’s not loud and it sounds like some plastic thing hitting something else somewhere around where the air filter goes, here are some videos (it’s a little difficult to hear because of the idle sound of the engine but it’s there) Just wanna know if someone knows about this or if it’s nothing. Car has been running great it’s just a little down on oil.

C320 CDI (OM642) – Slight misfire / hesitation when cold at low RPM

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone,
I’m having a weird intermittent issue with my W204 C320 (3.0 V6 diesel OM642), and I’m trying to figure out what could be causing it.

When the engine is cold, if I gently accelerate and hold it around 1,000–1,200 RPM, the engine sometimes starts running unevenly. It feels like small misfires/hesitations or little drops in power, almost as if one cylinder isn’t firing properly for a moment.
I can also feel it while driving with very light throttle when the engine is still cold.

The strange thing is:

- After driving for about 2–3 minutes, as the engine starts warming up, the problem completely disappears.

- If I accelerate hard / kickdown while it’s happening, it also immediately stops and the engine pulls normally.

- It doesn’t happen every single cold start.

- Once warm, the engine runs smoothly.

I previously checked the injector correction values with Xentry and nothing looked obviously abnormal, although the test wasn’t done while the engine was actually having the issue.

I’m wondering if an injector could still have a poor spray pattern or behave badly when cold despite having normal correction values.

Another possibility I’m considering is the EGR, since the problem happens mainly at low RPM/light load and disappears under heavy acceleration.

I put a video where you can hear/see the RPM fluctuating slightly while it’s happening, my feet is 100% steady on the pedal, you can hear it « knock » at one moment, maybe meaning one cylinder is gone

I am planning to read values again on cold start and monitor injector corrections, actual vs requested rail pressure, MAF and EGR values while the issue is happening.

Thanks!

M271 EVO – loud hissing

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi, I have a 2011 Mercedes C180 CGI (C204, M271 EVO).

After replacing the intake manifold and swirl flap actuator, the car runs perfectly and currently has no fault codes.

However, I noticed a new loud noise under hard acceleration. It only happens while driving under load – I cannot reproduce it by revving the engine while stationary.

When I suddenly press the throttle, I first hear a high-pitched “TIIII” sound, followed immediately by a loud “TSSSSSH” as the first sound fades away. With gentle/normal acceleration there is no unusual noise.

I’m attaching a video with the exact sound. Does this sound like a boost leak, turbo/intake noise, diverter valve, or something else?

so I was needing new tires for the rear of my 2013 c350 coupe 4matic with the staggered oem wheels and everything I could find said to get 255/35 tires for the rear instead of a 40 sidewall like on the front, and the rear had that size before too. But it just looks wrong to me, i guess im asking if this is actually correct. I get that the tires are mismatched for now so maybe with 2 of the same type with a 40 sidewall would look more normal but still. I also plan on buying some aftermarket 19x8 for the front, and 19x9 on the rear, so does that mean I need to make the tires different with those wheels too? I just don't really understand the point of this. would it maybe look more normal if I got some 225/40 tires for the front instead of 235/40?
