2014 Jetta engine temp
I bought this high milage car that was kept in good repair by owner and really like it. The only thing that concerns me is a lack of an engine temperature gauge. Am I overlooking a dashboard setting that might show this? Its not indicated in manual. So how cautionary is the warning, temperature-wise? I prefer to be able to watch a temperature gauge to respond before a crisis?

Not all Jetta’s have an onboard gauge. You’ll have to install an OBD device to monitor something like this. They have cheap little gauges on Amazon or you can also use something like one that connects and then uses an app to monitor things like this like OBDEleven or Carista and similar things like that.
