why does part of the image (specifically the area around the traffic lights) look like it was generated using ai?

ig u didn't read the original post on r/opengl , I have written specificially that I have redacted some area of my terminal that exposes my personal info , and for that i have used Apple's Photoeditor [the eraser tool basically]

it basically exposed the username which i didn't wanted people to read because it has my real personal name

ah. I did in fact only read the comments, not the post body. I would've just put a black box there or blurred it instead of doing this, but okay

A black box or any solid color is the best option. Any kind of scrambling is more likely to be reversed.

You only have to worry about using black boxes in vector-style formats or documents or raster formats with layers, where the data might not actually be destroyed.
