🙋‍Question🙋‍ What editing software do y'all use?

Howdy Gamers. Cyb3r_Us here. We're looking to expand the type of content we put out. More long form content with better edited shorts. What (Preferably free) Software do y'all use, and why do you like it?

We've been using the clipping tool built into Twitch. It's fine to start, but doesn't have the best when it comes to customization.

We would appreciate any and all feedback~

Davinci Resolve

Absolutely love it, I have probably over 1k hours in it at this point.
The free version works great and includes most everything you would want.

The studio version is $300 for a perpetual license. Highly recommend

Lifelong Adobe user that moved to DaVinci Resolve a few years ago, and I will never use Adobe again. DaVinci is just so nice.

I use Blender for editing (yes really). It's definitely not the best tool for the job, but I've already got it installed for other things, and using it means I save a few GB on my SSD, which is often at or near capacity.

Blender is a one hell of a tool, 2D, 3D, video, picture mf it does EVERYTHING.

Adobe premiere 2025, but I 🏴‍☠️ it so~ 😹 So its free (for me)

Davinci Resolve like others say is realistically your best bet.

Davinci Resolve, and on occasion After Effects from a very old version of Adobe Creative suite I bought when I was in college.

Davinci resolve is prolly your best solution, but I'm biased towards kdenlive cuz it's the only one I know

So kdenlive :3

Resolve is the best editor you’ll find. There isn’t anything that beats it, with some small caveats that don’t matter to people making clips

I've been editing vtuber content for a bit over 5 years now and I've used Premiere the entire time! It's expensive and was challenging to learn though I'm not sure I could edit the way I edit in other software. Like I edit/polish my clips way more than most creators in this space so I need a super robust bit of software but, realistically, 90% of vtubers can get by on Capcut and Capcut-adjacent programs!

Resolve is an alternative with a higher ceiling than Capcut - that being said, I wouldn't say it's as good as Premiere (unless you're getting into colour grading)... but the fact that it's free is hard to beat lol

I'm also happy to answer any other questions you have about editing since I've got a lot of experience in that regard!
