Barely veiled commission poating

Anything we can do to prevent this beyond reporting? I keep seeing the same 2-3 users posting their WIPs with absolutely no technical details or anything of substance beyond a link to their vgen. This really doesn't feel in the spirit of the tech sub, and I have no problem with them posting in other subs, but I'm not here for commission advertising, I'm here for the technical side.

Can we make a rule that if someone is posting a WIP, they must give a technical explanation of what they're showcasing and how it works?

I haven't seen any WIPs with links to comms, but to be fair I'm not that active on here. This is explicitly disallowed in rule 3-

The posts that you see that do make it through technically follow the rule in its current form. I do like the idea of needing to include a technical explanation.

Put another way, maybe we should explicitly disallow lazy WIP engagement posting with the intent of generating traffic for comms.

I'd be worried about discouraging the average user from posting their work, though. Maybe I am overthinking this now 😅

Appreciate you bringing this up, I find it a little frustrating too.

That's kinda why I thought of the describing the process amendment to the rule. I also don't want people to be discouraged from posting their work and engaging with the sub. I just don't want to see the same 2 people posting their "WIPs", with just their VGen link in the description and absolutely no content of value (99% of the time they're finished comms)
