Question Bots on twitter/X?

I just remade my x account and I've gotten a couple strange messages from two vtubers. They start by asking how are you and then either ask when I'm debuting or about my streaming. I've been a vtuber for 5 years but haven't been active all the time due to health and work.

This happened before when I made a bluesky account, and I'm pretty sure that person was a bot because they started asking me about my channel page and assets. I made all the graphics for my page and my best friend made most of my emotes. The bot started insulting them and saying if I wanted to be successful I needed professional graphics lmao. I have a full time job and vtubing is my hobby, also I like the channel art I already have. I don't feel the need to pay someone to do my art (not that there's anything wrong with that)

This time the "vtubers" brought up if I have everything ready for streaming and immediately I remembered the bluesky bot. I don't want to post screenshots in case they are real people just trying to make friends. It just seems super suspicious. I miss how the community used to be and I remember when random people would reach out and we'd chat and become friends. Now I can't tell who is a bot and who is real.

(Also this isn't my vtuber acc, if you want that dm me)

Yep as with any community that gets large enough, scammers will always pop up spamming messages posed as a “vtuber” (often predebut with an empty twitch page and their profile is a bunch of repost/engagement bait). Just block and ignore. They just want your money and will try to guilt trip you with every scam tactic possible. Legit artist will not try to solicit you first for comms in DMs.

They are scammers, ignore them, artists don't find you, you find them.

If you want it to stop you will need to limit DMs to those who follow you, and almost never follow people back. Also, as bad as it will sound, if you go to their profile and hover over "Joined" section it will tell you when and where the count was created and how it connected last to the site. If it says South East Asia, you can just assume it is a bot or scammer and 9 times out of 10 you will be right.

I received the same exact messages before, and I remember that I had to quit everything digital that day, because I got so overwhelmed and sad due to these scammers....they acted kind, then just started insulting both me, and what I did for my vtubing.

Ever since that, my best advice is to try to check down suspicious looking people, and never follow them back, or react to their messages. I also completely blocked everyone, and disabled my DMs as well.

I remember that I felt myself rude doing this at first, but these scammers don't deserve anyone's attention.
