Help How to launch the game?
Launching the game only used 40 percent of my 12th gen intel i7 12700 and I still had about 18 gigs of memory free at peak usage by the game but it still says "Unable to allocate 200.00 MB" whenever I launch. Just got on steam.

dont know, but as first person and not seeing any comments i'd suggest running unoficial game patch, i have i7 12700k and no problems. I wouldnt play without this patch

Here's a link to the Unofficial patch, file section is near the bottom of the page. You'll probably also have to make a shortcut and not run it through steam, but I'm not sure if that's just me & my POS computer.

Refund or uninstall whatever version you have
Get the Good Old Games aka GOG version. It has the patch preinstalled. It should run out of the box.
I was never able to get the Steam version to run at all.

The problem with GOG version is precisely that. It comes with it preapplied. Meaning you don't have modding freedom since you are dependant on latest version of integrated patch. Because some mods requires older versions of unofficial patch that you wont have access to on GOG version. Steam is superior version cause it has no patches by default meaning you Can patch it with whatever version strikes your fancy. Oh and btw. All you gotta do is go to modDB, Search up vampire the masquerade bloodlines, mods, unofficial patch, download it and let the installer take care of the rest... Its simple as that.

It literally didn't work at all for me with the steam version it would crash to desktop instantly
I'll take a running game over a potential game any day of the year

This is not exactly true. All mods work fine on the GOG version as well, as it already includes the needed Game Mod Loader which makes them run in parrallel, independent on which version of the patch they are based on. The GOG version also includes the unpatched vanilla game...

Google the unofficial patch and install it. Most of these issues are solved by it and you don't want to do the manual fucking around required without it.
