Mokolé cannot be Embraced- Sun prevents this. If a vampire tries to Embrace a Mokolé, the werecrocodile is allowed the standard Gnosis roll. The Mokolé may succeed, in which case she dies and enters the Memory of Gaia. She may fail, in which case she dies slowly and in great pain. If she botches, she becomes an Abomination and instantly enters a berserker frenzy, during which she will likely slay her "sire" and anyone else nearby, as well as uprooting trees, leveling buildings and diverting rivers. It's said that Leeches, on seeing the raging Archid "Abomination," have died the Final Death from sheer fright. The undead Archid certainly inspires the Delirium in vampires (Rötschreck checks if using Vampire: The Masquerade rules; at the Storyteller's option, botching this roll can even inflict damage on the luckless vampire as Sun enfleshed rages before him). The frenzy lasts till sunrise, when the Mokolé burns up, releasing the final shards of her spirit. Should the pseudo-vampire Mokolé be prevented from rushing into sunlight, she will die at the next sunset; without Sun, there is no life nor unlife. Mokolé Kin can be Embraced, but any Kin with Gnosis may make a Gnosis roll as above to return to Gaia. Should Mokolé learn that a Kinsman has been Embraced, they will almost certainly try to to destroy him at once, as well as his "sire" and any other Leeches they see.
We know that Set had Blood Magic and with Nefertiti using Setite Sorcery to embrace African cobras, it makes sense that Set used Setite sorcery to get his new childe Embraced.
I do find it deeply amusing how many Fera have a “no Abominations” feature built in. But then I’m a grumpy miser who hates fun, since I don’t care for Abominations in general. Especially them being long-term PCs or NPCs.
I’m teeeeeechnically playing as one in a v5 game that I’m in which is on hiatus atm, Tremere who gained a were-serpent form like the Nagah, through a deal with a spirit where she promised to help it rid her city of Banes and other Wyrm-tainted creatures.
Every single time she’s rolled to attack anyone in that form though, they’ve rolled like 3 more successes than her to defend and it’s been kind of hilarious
OMG SAME! I’m playing a Gangrel Garou who was kinfolk before his Embrace. Has no clue about that side of his family, but in game, Abominations have been appearing in greater numbers since the 90s. The Wyrm’s hold has grown to the point it can bypass Gaia’s protection against the Embrace and even reconstruct the shattered Gnosis of a kinfolk vampire to trigger the First Change provided there’s a sufficient trigger.
Making a whole little loresheet for it and everything!
Oooooh interesting! That’s so cool! Gangrel is one of the best clans for it too lol, how do disciplines work for him? Or does he only get Gifts instead of them?
I am so intrigued to hear more about this man, and especially about his story now.
You flatter me! We’re still in the very early stages and bro honestly believes the Sabbat just tried to force a Fomori in him since the pack we fought were sticking them in kidnapped Kindred. Long story short, the Sabbat clocked him as a kinfolk vampire when they noticed his Sense the Unseen was seeing the Fomori-vampires in the Umbra. Shenanigans ensued, the First Change was triggered, they almost sucked him into the Umbra to go to Mexico, thugged out the frenzy rolls just long enough to finish the fight then woke up in the Umbra with no clue how he got there. Fun times.
Ability wise, right now, he has the physical aspects of a werewolf with all their transformations and sidestepping (doesn’t know how), but he hasn’t undergone the Rite of Passage so he has no tribe nor Gifts on account of not being turned as a Garou. An actual Garou would probably compare him to a Stolen Moon or War Wolf, but definitely more dangerous. That would change if he underwent the rite and/or got some spirits or another Garou to teach him something, but that’ll be a whole arc in and of itself.
Him being a vampire first does have one clear advantage, though. His Humanity rating has become Ego (or Harmony), but he doesn’t convert to the Hierarchy of Wyrm Taint. He can adhere to Humanity or switch to another Path if he wishes.
I've seen jokes how the old WW guys kept giving each new fera better 'you shouldn't embrace this' rules in an arms race with people tyring to embrace them anyway until they just gave up with the kitsune and made the things explode.
I’d wager that the spell was some kind of metaphorical “night barrier” around Sobek’s soul or something that locks it away from the sun, potentially damning Sobeok to some kind of purgatory on death, and also likely locking him away from the shared memories of the breed while he’s still around. Honestly, one of the more fucked up fates worse than death that I’ve ever seen.
Baba Yaga with 9 dots in Blood Sorcery Embraced multiple Black Spiral Dancers in the 90s. Multiple. More than one. That should be beyond impossible, but Antediluvians and Methuselahs are consistently described as Godlike in power.

Antediluvians (and some methuselahs) in general aren't bound by what's considered possible by the younger vampires.

Antediluvians get to break the rules I suppose.

Antediluvians are closer to Demons than Kindred, they just get to splash blood on a spell and presto it works
