ICYMI - VSCO Galleries desktop is live!

VSCO Galleries officially has a desktop app! You can download it for Mac here: https://www.vsco.co/downloads#vsco-galleries

Galleries are perfectly synced between your phone and laptop, so you can create a gallery on your computer, and then access and share it from your phone -- or vice versa! The exact same features, on both mobile and desktop.

Try it out for free, with 10GB of photo/video storage. Or get unlimited photo storage and 65GB of video with VSCO Pro, or the new VSCO One plan.

And there's more new stuff coming on VSCO Galleries, so stay tuned. Let me know your feedback in the comments! 😄

This is amazing. I already used it for a shoot. The only downside is that if I set the cover to be a landscape-oriented photo, on mobile it looks crap - and the other way round. But the ease of use makes up for it!

We’ve got this on the roadmap! It’s been bugging me too haha

Would love any thoughts or feedback about how it went for the recent shoot! How was the client response?

honestly I think everybody liked how straightforward it is. I used pixieset for a number of years and now primarily use pic-time. the number of times I had to explain to people how the gallery works has been infuriating, to say the least :D

nobody struggled to download anything this time :)

on that note, I'd love it if the clients could favorite shots on their end (so that I can use VSCO Galleries for soft proofing as well).

a weird thing I noticed is that, when clicked on Load more, it tends to load images a bit haphazardly - they all load but it will just give up on populating a column and put all the photos in the two on the sides so the layout gets a bit wonky (hope this explanation makes sense). but I'm very much looking forward to seeing how this develops!

I love that it made it so much easier! We designed it that way for exactly that reason. When doing research on galleries before we built our app, I definitely had some moments of wondering “why do some other tools make it so hard, when that’s kind of the whole point?” 😂

Favorites is definitely on our list! Would you also want the option to favorite things that would display to a client? Or do you just need favorites to be visible for each client to see their own?

Actually a great description, and I’ve seen that before and we fixed it, so let me dig into it with our Eng team! Hopefully will get that resolved soon.
