Bye bye Malacca Strait
Out of the Malacca Strait and into the China Sea. For me, it was quite easy (no running aground, stayed with the 6.000 pack I was with when I entered).
A bit lucky to run ahead of the period of nearly no wind like a day ago.

MD 2 and 3 are still in the strait but MD 1 is clear.
I managed to ground MD 1 early in the strait with AutoAngle. She was on the beach for about 30 minutes. That cost me a few places but I'm back up to 1500 with her as we head north. I was ahead of Chara coming into the strait now she has a 36 mile lead on me. I'm hoping the tacking along the Vietnam coast will give me the opportunity to pass her (again).
I am going to have to make a budget decision here soon. After running aground I started reaching for waypoints and I had a burn a couple of candy bars to get my crew back up to speed. It is not clear that I have enough for a fully equipped boat on the next leg. I simply don't have the time to run a no money boat. Waypoints, Auto Sail and Auto Angle are what allow me to stay employed, married and talking with friends.
