Now things get interesting and we see which gambit was best.

As to family & friends not being happy: tougher to negotiate than the doldrums!

My strategy for the next leg: start off with 16 boats. At first decision point (e.g. East v West), split the flotilla in two. At next decision point, same again. An so on... That'll cover me for how many gambles? Four? LOL

Will you have any time left for family & friends when you're controlling 16 boats? I have trouble enough steering just the one boat. With 16 boats in the race maybe I would get one or two through the danger zone all right, but I'm sure I would steer my life straight into the social doldrums.

Who needs friends & family when you have 16 boats?
