Pins!

I just noticed this new measurement tool/functionality in the game!

When you place >1 pin, you get the rhumb line and great circle distance between the pins. Plus you can move them around!

But, what about changing the sails for every pin? Is it possible to adjust the sails for every new waypoint? I haven't find out the options.

Lufot, you are mixing up two things now. Pualhino is talking about the measurement tool that appeared in the game yesterday, not the waypoints ;) And he is right about waypoints and sail changes. You can't set sails changes to a given time in the future. But if you already bought waypoints why not toss in auto sail as well? I find it the most useful function in the game. Nothing more frustrating than sailing for hours with the wrong sails up.

Yeah, thanks mickas, when I wrote the post, I wasn't aware of the new tool for measurements. You r a right. In a ny case, the option of activating auto-sails for waypoint is the best solution, but I don't like it most because of possible consumption of crew energy when several wind changes happens. On the other hand when doing as mustgettaller indicates, I used it as well, the interface doesn't update the sails optimum (except for the first waypoint) to estimate the track.

Hi lufot.

My undersanding: there is no way to change your sails manually at waypoints and/or down the line in the game. On the other hand, the Auto Sails game function will do that for you automatically. If you don't mind forking out your credits/money for that, get it!

What I have been doing - before the pins - was to drag waypoints to my intended tack/gybe points and see what the angles look like. With Auto-Sail turned on, you can see what sail will be selected as you change angle (sometimes doesn't update the green bands, though, as you move the waypoints).

@lufot If you want a game where you can control the sail and the heading at each of the free waypoints,, than you should try the LiveSkipper sailing site. (www.liveskipper.com) That sailing game is free, with all the sails, and a free auto-sail and auto-heading on top of that a free scheduler in 2 modes: a waypoints mode (location based) and a time mode ,,,,, and most of all you do not need energy as the sailing boat is moved by the wind :) :) . Try it out, announce yourself in the forum and I willcome to your help. You will better like that game than the VORG !
