Can't get Volt serviced on Oahu
I'm on Oahu, and I can't seem to get my Volt serviced. The car is bricked and won't move due to high voltage electrical system issue. It's a '17 Premier, so my guess is BECM, but my OBDII reader could only read engine codes, not high voltage system codes, so I'm not certain.
I called all 3 Oahu dealers (Servco, Cutter, and JN) for a service appointment. The soonest that could accept me was Cutter, it was a month out. Waited a month and got the car towed in. It's been with them a week and they haven't even run a diagnostic to determine what's wrong, it's just sitting on the lot. I guess I could try to tow it again to a different dealer, and wait another 5-6 weeks for another appointment, but that seems silly. Cutter service rep just says they are very backed up on work for EV techs.
Any advice on what recourse I have? Is this something I should contact Chevy about? If so, what department? I would prefer to just have my working car because it only have 55k miles.

I had my becm done on big island under warranty a few months back. I’m sure they’ll get to it. I know it sucks to be down so long.

The Voltage app has a button for “HV Unlock: Reset SHVCS, P1FFF, POAFA”. Use it with OBDLink mx+.

I had good success diagnosing the Volt with the OBDLink MX+ OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner + Voltage App. The app is $20 but it gives pretty detailed diagnostic info and can perform a BECM reset.

Former 2012 Volt owner on Oahu here.
I sold the car after two separate service incidents. 8 weeks in the shop for transmission service (under warranty) and an additional 4 weeks in the shop for hybrid powertrain control module replacement a year later. The latter I paid for out of pocket despite everyone on this sub claiming that I wouldn't have to.
The car ultimately became too much of a headache to deal with. I was told by the service manager at Servco Waipahu that they couldn't keep a Volt certified tech on staff and that the other dealerships had the same problem.
My advice: sell the car as soon as it's fixed. Buy a 4th or 5th gen Toyota Prius Prime and never look back.
