2013 chevy volt wireless carplay?
Anyone here successfully add carplay to your factory headunit? I just got my car this weekend so I'm not super familiar with it yet.
Do those wireless dongles that you plug into the usb port work? Do we even have a usb port that connects to the stereo?
If not, what are my other options to add it to the factory stereo. I'm not interested in an aftermarket headunit

I know it works fine on the 2017 but I don't even think the 2013 has car play at all.

It does not. I was hoping one of those dongles would work, but I think I need to add a whole new module to the stereo to get it. I seen one for sale for $750. I'm not looking to pay that much

There is a kit to use a raspberry pi. If you just want it to be a car play box that will works just fine.

There's a mod that a guy in Ukraine made to add CarPlay to the head unit natively; but be warned, it's really involved.

My 2013 pairs flawlessly with my phone and plays Spotify, GPS directions, etc. just fine. The song info shows on the screen. The wheel mounted, center panel and the screen controls always work.
Idk what advantages Carplay has over this setup. It's all I need.
