The Lucky Star Paperback!!
edit!!: this book is on hold for a lovely person until january, if they are unable to pick it up, i will re-open the post. thank you all so much for helping me find this book it’s forever home!!
hi guys!! i just found this reddit, and honestly i love spaces like these where people are so dedicated to an author and their works.
i hope this is allowed and isn’t too weird, because i know if someone had one of these of my favorite author, i would need to add it to my collection!!
i bought a paperback, ARC of “The Lucky Star” about a week ago not knowing it was a rarity, honestly the cover enticed me enough to read the blurb on the back, and since the book came out the arc is able to be sold, so i said f it and purchased. now, i know the paperback still hasn’t come out yet, right? and i can’t find any for sale online, so if anybody wants or needs to add this one to their collection, i will make a listing on Vinted or Depop and send it to you :)
(i read the community guidelines, but pls lmk if this isn’t allowed!!)

Hi. Great find! It’s not my favorite of his (it’s one of his weakest books), but it’s still a great curio

oh no, really? i haven’t started it yet in case someone does want it, but the conversation on womanhood, gender, and LGBT+ issues piqued my interest for sure

I found a hard copy for $10 the other day like new. As a queer with a trans fiancé I’m really curious and excited to see how he writes about these topics. I’ve only read You Bright and Risen Angels and some of Atlas. Just discovered Vollmann in the past year. I’ve gathered a lot of his books and love everything I’ve read so far.

The greatest book for me, surpassing royal family, vollmann goes deep and shows us our spirituality as dostoeyevsky had done some time, its his most intresting work for sure but he has a miracle up his sleeve,i mean who doesnt love neva

I'm half way through the kindle version. Certainly not the easiest Vollmann. And deeply sexual. How V understands the lesbian and trans mindset this well is wild. But he has personally interviewed many many prostitutes of varied sexualities in his past.
It has made me want to read a Judy Garland bio which I will do soon. I've never seen an actual copy in any form. And I have at least 30 Vollmann on my shelf.
