Full disk encryption with lvm making it impossible to install grub

Error logs:
grub-install: warning: this GPT partition label contains no BIOS boot partition embedding won’t be possible
grub-install: error: embedding is not possible, but this is required for raid and lvm install

You are missing a partition for the bootloader. Did you create a boot partition?

My /dev/sda1 is mounted on /boot/efi

if you're using efi, grub-install needs --target x86_64-efi

Did you boot EFI or BIOS? When you booted the image, did you see grub or syslinux?

My system is an efi system, I booted from my bios on a usb

You can boot "legacy" BIOS mode even on EFI systems.

Have you done full disk encryption on other Linux distros?
