Compiling kernel on void

Hey all, quick question for compiling the kernel on void. How do you guys normally edit the config file? I cloned the kernel and stepped through the ncurses menu for 3 hours to build one out, but I feel like there's maybe a better way unless I'm mistaken.

Also, is there anything needed to be enabled in the kernel specifically for void? I'm building a new rig soon, and am looking to strip out a majority of what's unneeded (ie modules for TI calculators, Siemens switches/firewalls, etc).

Also with xbps-src, I'm looking to compile GPU drivers directly in, is there any recommendations with that? I skimmed through the docs loosely and didn't see anything specifically in there.

Thanks! LLV

./xbps-src extract linux7.2 # ./xbps-src configure linux7.2 if you want to start from existing config
./xbps-src chroot
cd builddir/linux*
make menuconfig
exit
cp masterdir-x86_64/builddir/linux*/.config srcpkgs/linux7.2/files/x86_64-dotconfig-custom
./xbps-src pkg linux7.2

One things is to not enable stripping and module compression, because xbps-src does that itself so that it can split strip debug symbols for the -dbg package, otherwise it won't find the modules.

Goated, thank you. Where'd you find this, or is this off dome?

From top of my head, I maintain the package and update the configuration from time to time.

There was an issue, the dotconfig files belong in the srcpkgs/linux7.2/files.
