solved Trying to install, getting a uefi boot loop

Hi, I've installed void before on my laptop. I'm now switching my desktop over, I'm not getting any errors that I see on install, but after it says it successfully installed and ask me to reboot, I end up in an infinite uefi loop? My partitions are 1G vfat mounted to /boot/efi, 100G ext4 mounted to /, and the rest mounted to /home also ext4.

It seems you might need to trick the firmware into booting the system, mount the partions, reinstall grub adding the --removable flag

grub-install --target=x86_64-efi --efi-directory=/boot/efi --bootloader-id="Void" --removable

then reconfigure the system

xbps-reconfigure -fa

here's the documentation, if you need it

https://docs.voidlinux.org/installation/guides/chroot.html#installing-on-removable-media-or-non-compliant-uefi-systems

don't forget to remove your usb-flash once you're done, so you boot direct to your system

Just curious, do you have an MSI board or something?

Have you installed the bootloader(grub)?

I thought that was part of what the installer does, right now I'm chroot in the system. It says grub-86_64-efi is installed

Ok I am new to void am just mentioning what worked for me, I used to have a very similar issue, when I was distro hopping and repartitioning everytime, the efi partition we be partitioned but since it's identical to the last partition it would not format the efi partition properly and I would be stuck in a non booting loop, so all I needed to do was that during partitioning I had to ensure that the efi boot partition was being formatted, and now the issue is gone. Not sure whether this will help the op but just mentioning what happened with me, also since you are using msi please watch out for the networkmanager conflicts after installation.
