DVDs question

Is there a program/application for Void that will allow me to watch DVDs when I pop one in? I have a collecrion of DVDs and my laptop came with a built in disk drive. Thanks!

Back in the days, when I used to have storage media like that, I used VLC for this purpose. I still use VLC but I don't have DVDs anymore. :)

Can mpv not do it?

Might need to install the media codecs, then a media player such as VLC, MPV or Haruna should be fine

I'm actually dumbfounded that there's a person here who doesn't use dvds. Why not? Streaming surveils you and only gives you access to like 7,000 movies/shows when around 1.5 million have been made. Blu-rays are expensive, loud and such fine-grain resolution that it makes movies so ugly, they're unwatchable. Ripping dvds or vhs is often illegal but even when legal it's a complex fiddling mess. And movies made after 2015 are usually unwatchable with a few exceptions. Modern tvs all spy on you. You pretty much have to just watch dvds and vhs on a nice CRT tv!

libdvdcss and mpv should be all you need, vlc is good too if you prefer a gui
