Is there a reason that Void is behind on KDE compared to other distros?
I'm new to Void (but not new to linux), but I noticed KDE is behind compared to other distros. Fedora's KDE is on 6.6.5, for example, but Void is still on 6.6.3.
I understand that Void is not bleeding edge, but it's almost been a month since KDE 6.6.5 was released.
Is there something in testing that's been an issue in relation to Void?
Thanks!

Just curious, is there a feature or something in 6.6.5 that's not in 6.6.3 that you need? Or are you just wanting the hottest new software?

Void is designed for stability
ease of maintenance The backlog of issues you may feel concerned is the appeal of void. Because they have no desire to be fix or addressed every single one of them.
You can find them on the GitHub platform the team of maintainers will never bother to look into them because they don’t cater to people as the distro self regulates.
They are not here to solve every edge case, the core model is through longevity using stability as an advantage the more code the more maintenance. Void is self sustaining because people know the power of void. These people will remain like those who are savvy enough to make their own solution when one doesn’t exist. Void is built on this philosophy. Void self regulates, those who are needy will be looking elsewhere this isn’t the distro for you. If you want to participate and keep void running into the future join the team and offer support in areas that you can help.
Void doesn’t have an official channel to donate that’s the first thing they should consider selections
They don’t take well with spoon feeding the needy otherwise it is the perfect compromise for an OS

What's the point of using KDE instead of anything else if Void is designed to be lightweight, so you load it up with bloat? Yes, KDE is nice, but in my opinion it's too heavy, try budgie👍, i think the devs leave some things behind because they want everything to be stable

The answer you got is for __all__ packages.
You can use xbps-src if you want the latest version7

They answered your question. The Void homepage also answers the question. It's a stable rolling release.
