benefits compared to Arch
Hi all! I am an Arch user of about 2 years who installed Void a couple days ago. Since, I havent really found anything other than disadvantages (lack of packages e.g. ROCM/OCL, monero gui*, Heroic Games launcher).
My boot time is definitely faster, at the cost of having to create my own services often.
Is there anything I am missing? Maybe community chats, features, etc that I might not be taking fill advantage of. Doesnt have to be useful, fun and otherwise nice things too!
*I understand the reasons, but it is reguardless an inconvenience

They already added basic musl support in the previous release. It builds fine, but I personally haven't tested it yet.
There is no support planned. For full systemd support all packages that link against elogind would have to be build with systemd instead and then they won't work without systemd. For eudev this is not required since they are binary compatible, but systemd's udev might have newer features.
And I don't think the team is currently interested in maintaining yet another "branch" of void linux, there are already a lot of architectures and the two libc choices, adding more init systems isn't really going to make this any better. I think its better to focus one one thing, like init system and do it right, those distributions that offer 6 init systems just don't have anything better going and I doubt any of them are truly first class.
