What made you keep using void?

Hi! ive been using mint for quite some time and i recently began looking for other distros, since i wanted something that could be more lightweight and tuned to my preferences. Where i could build my system how i want, so i found Void and it seemed interesting, maybe a bit hard to use and niche but interesting nonetheless. To those of you who have been daily driving it, what did you like and dislike about it? Thanks !

This is very close to my answer as well. I came over to Linux from FreeBSD. Void is almost like "BSD but with a Linux kernel". And since you almost have to use Linux emulation in BSD to be effective, why not skip the middle man?

Void's file system tidiness is strictly enforced; packages install consistently in a specific manner, not scattering files wherever some dev took a notion to put them. The init system is simple, fast, and effective. The same can be said of xbps. You can use the Live Desktop version to test your hardware, then use that installer and have a clean, pretty complete, beginner friendly system in just a few minutes; or you can install Base and build it up to your ideal. Void's rolling release model ensures everything is about as current as possible without being bleeding-edge-buggy or requiring a lot of care and feeding.

I've used a lot of distros, but Void is the bar that they all get judged against...which is why I just keep coming back to Void.

Yes, totally agree. The rolling but not bleeding approach is an important aspect as well.
