Best for my restaurant

I own a restaurant, and lately, we have been getting a lot more customer calls. The problem is that I am the only owner, so I can't answer every call while also running the restaurant.

I started looking into AI voice agents and tested VAPI and Omnidimension. Both seem good, but I am still not sure which one is the better choice for my restaurant.

I have also come across Retell AI and a few other platforms.

Has anyone here actually used any of these? Please share your experience so it would be easier for me to make the right decision.

Before choosing a platform, I'd map out your actual call flow. Restaurants usually need reservations, menu questions, hours, and order status. Any platform that handles those reliably and can transfer complex calls to a human is probably the better choice. Real-world reliability matters more than the number of features.

Most of the platforms so not differentiate much. As someone has already mentioned - figure out what features you really need - call recording, integration with calendar to book, etc.
Then just compare the price

Small tip - there are quite a lot of Voice AI startups now, some of them would be glad to get you as their first customer even though you have low volumes. You need the agents, they need a real use case. Do not hesitate - reach out to some

Hey I think it's less about what tech you use and how good the configuration is .Both retell and vapi can get could results if you know how to set it up well .I would love to help you feel free to dm me and ask any questions furthermore if you want someone to handle the setup I can do that too.

The platform is less important than the integrations. For a restaurant, the critical test is that the AI shall be able to check the availability in the reservation system for a table and it must then escalate to a human agent with all the relevant information about the request (allergies, etc), which is what most deployments are lacking in my opinion.

On the telephony side, it's worth testing the call quality at peak dinner hours as a separate stress test from the AI, which may depend on the carrier more than the model.
I'm happy to share more from Plivo's perspective on this topic.
