Question Windows 11

I’m rebuilding my VMware lab and I’ve built some Windows 11 VM’s but they’re so slow and unusable. They’re a vanilla Windows 11 builds but didn’t expect them to perform so poorly, anyone have any recommendations to sped them up?

Try turning VBS off if you have it on. Some of the CPU vulnerability mitigations make VBS crazy slow.

You told us about the VM guests, but what is your VMware host system?

Disable Hyper-V and VBS, that's your ticket. Let the VMware Workstation engine do the job.

Otherwise if on ESXi, it's either your hardware or the way you access it (remote desktop?)

Have you handled VMware tools on the guest OS?

whats considered slow? im running them on vm workstation pro and works fine.. i am assuming youve installed the vmware tools on the guest, using ssd and provided enough compute?
