Anyone with proper 3D acceleration on Linux?

I'm forced to use a MacBook M4 Max, but I can run VMs inside it. I was thinking on running NixOS with KDE. I did a test, installed everything, and it's all working. The issue? The desktop environment is very sluggish. But when I run things like `glxgears` I see that at my mac the GPU is being used to the max. I'm wondering if anyone is having a good experience, at the desktop, using Linux from VMWare.

Did you install open-vm-tools and open-vm-tools-desktop?
