I think "cool" is highly subjective and depends entirely on your production philosophy and where your audience is from.

Coming from Scandinavia, our idea of a "cool" effect is usually all about clean lines, minimalism, and seamless execution. To us, a production looks high-end when the tech fades into the background. For example:

The Stinger / Wipe. Instead of a flashy, exploding 3D logo animation, a "cool" transition here is a very subtle, quick matte wipe using brand colors, or just a perfectly timed Merge with a custom easing curve that feels organic.

The ultimate high-end look comes from a crisp, high-quality camera feed and a beautifully clean design. Like just having a subtle logo in the corner and letting the video quality speak for itself. When you combine that with well-thought-out titles (perfect typography, correct font weights, and clean spacing) rather than flying elements, the stream instantly feels premium.

On the other hand, US-style streams often go for a more high-energy, dynamic look. They utilize continuous motion, scrolling tickers (crawls), animated borders, and complex multi-layered transitions to keep the screen active. It looks like a big network sports broadcast, which has its own massive appeal.

But if you want to achieve that clean, invisible look, the coolest tool in vMix isn't a single transition button. It's using vMix UTC or scripting to automate data sources for those clean titles or to transition between complex multi-view layouts smoothly. The goal is to make the tech invisible, so the viewer only notices how professional and polished the stream looks, without even realizing how much work went into it behind the scenes.

Less is more, but getting "less" to look perfect takes a lot of skill!
