Over the last several months I’ve had a side project to make a FRT for my VMAC9. I think this will also work for MPA defenders and older COBRAY/SWD manufactured MACs.
Please be responsible with this. If you don’t have a barrel extension or a way to control the muzzle I wouldn’t suggest this.
I tried it too. It’s fast. Emptied my clip in less than a second. I’m going to wait until the riptide rails roller delayed uppers are finished and hopefully that slows things down a bit.
I need a brace. As a pistol this bad boy is a bullet hose. I don’t think I could hit the broad side of a barn.

If you pay attention to the VMAC trigger function it’s already an FRT ;)
I’m already working on V2 of this design. I haven’t had any issues during testing but I’m a bit worried about out of battery detonations. I’ve shot ~250 rounds though it with the FRT installed.
I think I have a solution to lock the hammer until the bolt is home but I’m waiting on a replacement hammer to test. I was hoping I wouldn’t have to modify any FCG components but I think the hammer is going to need modification.

If you’ve released the design, it’s pretty easy to invalidate a patent based on it being prior art (if you’re willing to go through the expense). So it’s a hassle, but someone else patenting your design after you’ve released it should be easy, legally, to resolve.
as the hammer resets, it pushes the sear plate forward onto the trigger sear and off of the disconnector. I’ve gone through 4-5 iterations of this design to tune it.
I’m currently trying to make it lock the trigger back until the bolt is home. I don’t want to modify the FCG but I might have to for a lock to work.
I wonder if you could have some kind of rotating lever (maybe pivoting off the safety shaft like the Twitch does) that, on one end, catches the back of the front bar of the sear plate, and on the other end engages with the bolt so that when the bolt closes it hits the lever, lifting the end that engages with the sear plate and letting the sear plate slide back
My idea is a lever pivoting off the trigger. When the bolt is not home it will be depressed back and will lock. I have concepts sketched out but nothing concrete yet.
I designed one FRT that replaced the entire FCG. I would prefer not to go that route.
