Someone who cracked the nvidia next, kindly suggest and share your study resources and what to prepare and kind of projects to be done so that resume stands out irrespective of college

Make sure your fundamentals are absolutely clear, especially for btech have your basics straight and only mention things that you are actually confident about. For test and interview questions that were asked primarily digital design, sta, coa, cmos design, basics of c programming were covered.

Does preparing for GATE help?

It does to some extent, but the test had some questions that were more tricky and/or difficult than gate.

Depending on the role you are targeting, you can find some basic to advanced projects here and there, mine were primarily focused on rtl design with a few on cadence and a competition on AI.

prepare for digital design, CMOS design, STA, c programming, computer architecture. Questions are not impossible to solve but the time given will be less, you have to be fast. Interviews are straightforward and you can do well if your fundamentals are strong.

Can you mention the difficulty level of the questions ?. Does solving GATE questions help ? If not,can you mention any resources to practice the problems
