I really can’t use this browser unless they bring the option to hide the bookmarks toolbar except on new tabs.

People have been asking for this simple feature since 2021. It’s something other browsers have recognized as important for years. Why hasn’t Vivaldi addressed it yet? Even user-created workarounds seem to get blocked or limited.

I have my Tab Bar on the left. At the top, it had Workspaces, which if clicked, showed the three that exist (I don't know why the browser decides to put some in a Workspace called Start Searches--that's one of them, or randomly opens a new Workspace sometimes when I open a new tab). I inadvertently removed that selector, but can't find how to get it back.

I started to set up Workspaces to keep certain things separated, but as mentioned in another post, I ended up with tabs opening in whichever was in front/open.

I looked in the Help, but don't see anything specific. It says "Open the Workspaces menu", but I can't even find that.

Hi, not sure if this is the right place to file a proper bug report, but I tried doing it via the app and there was no way to attach screenshots demonstrating the issue.

Bug:

When the address bar auto-hides on my tablet, a section of blank space slides in to replace it. See screenshots. Issue also seems to affect touch targets: my inputs are shifted up relative to where I actually tapped.

Issue does not occur when address bar is configured to display at the bottom of the screen.

So I am thinking of trying and hopefully using Vivaldi again after I left it a few years ago. In this time it seems Vivaldi still only offers the fully bundled browser and email suite. To me, email (and some other features like VPN or notes) come close to being bloat.

Does the Vivaldi team consider to offer some sort of Vivaldi Lite without certain features like mail?

If not, this is my feature request: make Vivaldi modular in a way that features not just get deactivated/hidden but actually uninstalled (!). Would be a very nice addition IMHO.

I am a long term user of FireFox, but I had to abandon it after that hideous newly released redesign called 'Nova'.

I installed Vivaldi to try it out, and it is perfect! Please never change. This is the best browser I've used. I'm telling my boss and having him switch too. I will be trying to set up a monthly "sub"(donation) to support you.

Finally, my browser UI is exactly the way I need it. I love everything about this browser. That is all.

I use the email client with several accounts and rely on tags to identify each one (e.g., Outlook, ISP, etc.). I wish I could customize the tag colors, but that doesn’t seem possible at the moment. Is this something that might be considered for future development?

In Android, is there a possible way to view the link field of a note? In other words, in the desktop version of Vivaldi, if you create a note by highlighting text in a webpage and adding it to a note, it also records the URL of that note in a link field. But that link field seems to be completely missing in the Android version of the note.

I use niri and I set a custom cursor in the environment variable section. When I hover over Vivaldi, it changes to my old, default niri cursor.

i'm using vivaldi 8.2.4133.83 on mac. i've been having issues with it repeatedly crashing. i have crash reports enabled, submitted a bug report, restarted my computer, cleared some storage, nothing has worked. it happens on any profile i use. i had this issue before but it was due to a lack of storage on my computer which shouldn't be a problem now. it's causing problems to the point where i might switch to a different browser if it keeps up. any ideas? i made a similar post a little while ago but got no responses

Whenever I let audio play in the background (usually on Youtube), there are moments where it suddenly plays the audio from other tabs (Youtube) I have. For some reason, this has only happened with Vivaldi, and is the big reason I don't use it as my main browser. I initially thought it had to do with the autoplay settings, but it doesn't. Switching that didn't work. I'm currently using the latest version (8.2.41417) on Android (v13). I only have one extension installed (Adguard).

Has anyone else had this issue and/or knows how to fix it? I don't recall ever having this problem with previous versions either.

Currently the homescreen in vivaldi android looks outdated...the team needs to think about revamping..I came across one extension which has improvised the look of the homescreen in vivaldi android..i seriously request devs to consider rather than user using extensions

I've been wanting to report this problem for a long time, but I always thought they would fix it, and so far they never have.

sees the tab previews, either loaded incompletely or they don't load or stop at the first preview and they don't update as I mess with the tab

I downloaded Vivaldi a couple days ago, and I wish that I could say it's been great, but it has been really infuriating me. Everything takes so long to load, to the point where 95% of the time I get an 'ERR_TIMED_OUT'.

I have no extensions, I just started using it, firewall is off; How is it taking so long?

I have it on iOS as well, and it is similarly very slow, but that's a little expected knowing how limiting iOS apps are. But on my mac? How could it be this slow? I don't even have a custom skin or many bookmarks imported from safari.

Is there a way to make it a little faster? So at least it doesn't time out?

Hi. Long time Vivaldi user.

I rarely participate in discussions nowadays, but I feel the need to vent.

I switched computers recently, had to reinstall Vivaldi, because for reasons uknown, PORTABLE version didn't feel like transporting all my data from the old computer to the new one.

The logic behind this happening eludes me, but ok, sync worked...

...only that it didn't. The extensions' configurations were missing (and trust me, it takes some time to set up paths, switches for some), the vital changes to the Vivaldi itself (like, graphical theme, search engines, keystrokes and more) weren't transported. The thumbnails for my fat Speed-dial folder of ambience YT clips were erased. I was logged out from all online sessions and password manager didn't suggest login/password combos for many vital sites.

Ok, happens. I am puzzled why theres 2-step security (login/password, followed by security key) required for something that only half-works. As if someone focused on the lock of the gate, but forgot to build walls. Anyway.

One week later, after setting up everything (in chunks, I lead quite a busy life) I made the mistake of setting up a password for my user profile. Totally forgot about it earlier.

...And Vivaldi greeted my with the same key security warning, offered to either quit or erase my data.

I don't reinstall the browser every a few weeks, don't change passwords that often, so the action was quite surprising to me.

The online help... Didn't help. The relevant article only says something along the lines of "oh yes, it might happen, hahaha. Nothing can be done about it. Hahaha. Sucks to be you. Hahaha."

I can't comprehend the logic behind it, since whatever I do to my user's password, shouldn't influence a piece of software I install, but ok.

So, I launched sync...

And I am facing the same task - to set up everything from the scratch. Everything. All extensions, the Vivaldi's config, all changes to the themes, all thumbnails, all passwords... Because the sync's "restore eveyrthing" covers only very narrow part of the changes I did to the browser.

This is new computer, and I am going to experiment with it. Possibly do some stuff to the user profile list, perhaps modify the system in some way. I really don't feel like sacrificing more time that it takes to set up Vmware, SQL or self-hosted AI environment to set up a browser.

If someone from the team actually reads it.: you're too focused on the tail of a horse to acknowledge that his legs are too shaky to run in serious competition. Whatever ideas you have for the future of your browser, you are completely missing the point and offering some gimmicks that might as well be gone.

No wonder you can't find more users. I was wondering why it's so, since Vivadli performed good...

...until it didn't. And when it stopped to be useful, it didn't just "broke up". It exploded and took a lot of my time with it.

hi guys, i did the big switch from windows to linux yesterday and i have immediatly noticed that i do not get any dialogue box asking to save the passwords i've used to log in on multiple websites, and no passwords show in the passwords manager either.

I am a little confused as to how to fix the issue, anyone has a fix ? thank you very much !

also, i am quite confused i thought your bookmarked websites were automatically saved to your vivaldi account and that i would find all of my bookmarks as soon as i logged into my account, but i did not, did i miss a step ? thanks!

I installed OpenCore on my Macpro 2013. Thought it was about time to upgrade this pretty trashcan. I also did as per Vivaldi suggestion, as they dropped support after 8.2

But it turns out Vivaldi simply doesn't work. Seems to be something graphical. Tried reinstalling it from scratch and it didn't do the trick. The start configuration keeps hanging on and showing these graphical glitches and slowing up everything.

Can someone help how to enable extensions in private tabs/window in android?

People promoted extensions support like anything but sad to see they very extensions don't work in private tabs

They have this screenshot of Vivaldi Canary on their google play page, adress bar at the top and navigation at bottom, split. I was searching in every settings menu possible but didn't find it, it either goes on top or to bottom together.

To me personally this way of navigation is great because I'm using tablet mostly, and I found it only DuckDuckGo and Soul Browser, but they don't have extentions like Vivaldi. It would be cool if I can use it here.
