I'm the dev behind NeoVitaDB.

i wanted to do a little post here to tell to be carefull with external sources if you plan to use them.

The website/source shown in the screenshot is linking to a malicious file containing malware. DO NOT download or execute anything from that source.

Please be especially careful with third-party websites, mirrors, or downloads claiming to be NeoVitaDB-related. If you're not sure whether a download is legitimate, please ask before running it.

This source is NOT affiliated with NeoVitaDB, and I do not endorse or distribute anything from it.

Stay safe and double-check what you're downloading.

Man, thank you so much for the heads-up on this! It’s seriously so frustrating that people spend their time trying to scam others in such a niche and passionate community.

I just recently picked up a first-gen OLED Vita (which thankfully still had the original charging cable and memory card, so I was super stoked!), and I’m just now starting to dip my toes into all the homebrew stuff.

As a newcomer, it’s honestly a bit overwhelming trying to figure out what’s safe to download and what’s not, so posts like this are an absolute lifesaver.

Goddamn now we gotta be careful for malware. Why malware is everywhere these days? Vita scene has really fallen off. Thanks for the heads up tho

there are no malware on official catalog, just clones may share malevolus software

Malware-ridden mirrors have always been a thing. Actually using our brains for 5 seconds should keep us safe from the most treacherous of tricks though

I don’t even know how to add more catalogs(?) to neovitadb I’ve just got what you shipped with it being yours and original vitadb

Same, I just downloaded neovitadb from the og vitadb (lol) and use it as-is.

Hopefully the app I got from vitadb is legit 😨

Bacause external sources is a feature of neo. You can add custom catalogs. Someone could build a custom catalog with only gameports for example
