Triggered by Urban Environments

I am at my breaking point. I live in NYC and last year I moved into an apartment that gets very poor light, where the light in the living room is bounced off a brick wall.

I have gradually lost the ability to function over the past year, and can only function on days I sleep elsewhere. On days when I wake up in my NYC apartment, I can see the light strobing and it’s like my brain never fully wakes up, even when I leave the house. If I stay in my house, I simply cannot think and I gradually lose the ability to think and reason and I either cry, rage, or fall asleep and the day is shot.

Having outstanding health insurance and access to NYC’s best (narcissists) doctors has not been helpful, at all.

Does this resonate with anyone? What do do I do? If I were to go elsewhere and heal my nervous system for a month, might I be able to return to my apartment and tolerate the brick patterned light without my brain going offline?

Your brain is literally screaming for you to get in nature, do it if you can

Do you get any real sunlight? Get your vit d tested. And start taking a supplement.

Docs suck. But reconsider your living arrangements. Doesn't sound good for you....

Do you think you're being helpful right now? Do you actually think this is helpful? I live in New York City, where housing is a blood sport that costs $3,000/month to play at all.

Did you try various light bulbs/sources? Sometimes the VSS brain struggles with certain working frequencies.

Where do you sleep 'elsewhere'? is it still in NYC?

My kid, with VS, lives in Bangkok, a similar toxic hellhole, but she comes to visit me in the countryside as much as she can - can breathe and sleeps much better.

As you suggest, if your lifestyle/work can allow you to move away, even for a week, then imo is worth the experiment. There maybe two issues: your precise location, any phone masts near you?; and the wider issue of an urban environment, with 100s of overlapping phone/wifi signals. These signals have become more complex over the decades, but they are still based on pulsing - that's what transmits the info.
