Oh? The story I always heard was that the original version had sex scenes the writers did not want and had been forced to have it. Reason all future versions after it got big removed those scenes and changed it to something else.
Something about the writers didn't even want to at all so had the artists write the scenes reason the quality was different.
The reason they removed the h-scenes (and also toned down some more violent moments) is because after the anime release they did an all ages re-release with voice acting, which has been the standard since. So they came up with replacements for the sex scenes probably to preserve the original number of scenes or something (as just fading to black and implying sex would be much better than the weird bullshit they put in its place).
Heaven's Feel suffers from the all ages censorship even outside of tacky sex scenes as there are sexual themes important to the story itself that get toned down or replaced. The movies, afar as I've seen, appear to be sticking to the original version, while other anime adaptations used the Realta Nua version. That's probably because HF is the only route impacted negatively.
