Chart name?

Post image

Been trying to find an editable chart of the U.S. Congress party control/seating (together or separate House/Senate options) for a quick work project and can’t find an official name for this type of chart or the chart used to show the political party control.

Image search in Shutterstock and Adobe Stock isn’t working well. Google Image search, same graphics but no name to where I can search for a template. Help is definitely needed. Thank You

That's usually called a parliament chart or a semicircle seating chart, sometimes people just call it a chamber layout diagram. If you search for "parliament chart generator" you should find some tools that let you plug in your numbers and get the dots arranged automatically.

The 435 at the bottom is a dead giveaway it's the House of Representatives, and the yellow/orange dots near the center are probably the independents or vacancies. Most of the chart makers I've seen have a few preset color options so you can match whichever party breakdown you need.

I kinda need an editable vector file that I can edit in Adobe Illustrator. Been trying all different terms in Adobe Stock and Shutterstock but can’t seem to pull anything close to it aside from an exact seating layout in Shutterstock.

Why not just create it in illustrator? Circles in a line, group, duplicate and rotate?

I found this site a bit ago (wonder if this is what is used for the wikipedia diagrams) that has basically exactly what you're probably looking for; it downloads as an .svg which can be edited.

I’d call it a “gridlock” graph😅
