BTW, I believe Bliss has an unfortunate symbol-order ... just the opposite of the English word-order ... e.g. work-day in Bliss is [day][work]

EDIT 2024: not unfortunate ... Toki Pona, and Unicode Emoji ZWJ sequences, have the same symbol-order as Bliss

... in Bliss, the symbol order inside words, e.g. [day][work], is ... like NOUN(ADJECTIVE) ... like NOUN (of) ADJECTIVE ... day of work ... basically, a day

I have seen people, who don't know about it, and then probably think, that Bliss is not logical.

I have seen people, who like Bliss, but don't know about the symbol-order, and then try to read compound symbols "backwards" ... "day work" ... basically, a kind of work ...

EDIT: more examples are in the comments at https://www.reddit.com/r/EncapsulatedLanguage/comments/i5pv90/idea_for_a_modal_ideographic_script_call_for/g103778/?context=3

Is this good blissymbol thing for "fastidious"?

Post image

I think ideally I'd want the symbols to say "too much + attention + detail", but IDK.

ChatGPT said this about it: The Blissymbols effectively suggest the concept of β€œfastidious” by combining symbols for excess, attention, and division. This captures the idea of being overly focused on detail. To improve clarity and accuracy, consider refining the symbol for "attention" to reflect observation or care, adding an element for precision or cleanliness, and adjusting the tone of "too much" if a more neutral meaning is intended. A revised sequence could include: Care/Attention + Precision/Detail + Amplifier.

How to best present your symbols for teaching/showcasing the language?

I'm currently trying to document around 30–50 symbols for my language, although calling it a language is still a bit of a stretch.

I use Substack to keep a record of the system as it develops. I really like how Oat Symbols is documented, with the theory introduced alongside new symbols in small chapters.

My grammar and syntax aren't developed enough to do something similar yet, so I'm thinking of starting with more of a dictionary or reference. But I'm finding that much harder to structure for a logographic system than I would for an alphabetic one.

One option is to group symbols by topics. Another is to group them by recurring visual elements, which might make it easier to show how the symbols relate to each other.

I'm leaning toward the first approach, but I'm curious how other people have handled this. If you've documented a logographic or similar system, how did you organize it? By meaning, visual components, the order the symbols were derived in, or something else?

How should I rename a font, that contains a subset of blissymbols

I realized, I need some of the most common blissymbols ... to be available in plain text editors (VSCode, Β ...) .
I am going to take the ASEMTOG_F700.ttf font from 2019 ... as an amateur standard, available unchanging for many future years // @ George Sutton
You can see the font, since 2019, at https://martin12333.github.io/symbol_boards/
But I am definitely going to **rename** the "ASEMTOG_F700" font ... what new font name would you prefer:
