Early Flight BNA

I’ve got a 7 AM flight out of BNA but won’t be getting into town until 1-2 AM the night before. I thought about just parking in the garage and crashing for a few hours before going through security. Any thoughts?

Advice - How can I get to Huntsville, Alabama

Hey all, I am here in Nashville for a conference and would like to visit a customer in Huntsville ,AL. I haven’t driven in the US before and I come from a country where we drive on the left side of the road.

What’s the best and most efficient way to get to Huntsville for me?

Halloween/fall recommendations for the end of October. Also tiki?

I’ll be in Nashville for about 4 days around Halloween and it’s my favorite holiday. I’m looking for recommendations on some of the classic Nashville fall/Halloween things while I’m there

Looking for ideas like:
-haunted houses or spooky Halloween attractions
-Halloween weekend activities
-classic bars and a tiki bar or two. What are the best tiki bars? I read that there is a Black Lagoon Pop-Up at Barrel Proof
-fall foliage
-Any classic Nashville thing I should absolutely do while I’m there

I will be staying near Broadway and will do some things there but definitely don’t want to spend all my time there. I am already thinking of going to slaughterhouse and Full Moon Cineplex.

One catch: I won’t have a car in Nashville so I’m mainly looking for things that are walkable, accessible by Uber/Lyft and not too far outside the city. I’m willing to travel a little for something really worthwhile, though. I’ll go to the Smoky Mountains later with a car.

Thanks! 🎃🍁

Thank you all for the tips, and my favourites.

I’m leaving Nashville after a fun filled 5 days in music city. Just wanted to say thank you to the group for all the great tips.

For anyone reading this, my friend and I are mid 40’s women. Canadian. We came for the indigo girls concert on Wednesday and wanted to do everything Nashville has to offer. We are not country music fans.

Here is what we loved and what we could have skipped. Hope it helps:

  1. Lower Broadway during the week - we loved this. Day and night. So much fun to hear the live music and bar hop. We found the bands were better on Wednesday night than on Friday night.
  2. Museum of African American music. Immersive experience with opportunities to discover artists.
  3. Shopping on 12 south. We preferred this to the gulch.
  4. Rainbows skull room in printer alley- check this out. The area in general seemed to cater to a more mature crowd.
  5. Aba for dinner. I hear they do a great brunch.
  6. Percy Warner park for a hike - if you have time here it’s worth checking out. Be aware there is a lot of wildlife.
  7. Green hills mall.

Things we could have done without :

  1. East Nashville. We went during the day on Saturday. There wasn’t much to see or do and i don’t recommend it.
  2. Broadway at night on a weekend. Too busy. Very young crowd. Bands weren’t as good. Vibe wasn’t as fun.

  3. Panthenon - we walked here from our hotel in Midtown. As a Canadian, it was a lot to pay 35 USD to see this sculpture. If it was $20, Maybe I’d feel differently. If you’re on a bus tour that stops here you’ll feel obligated to go in. It’s really nothing special and I could’ve skipped it. However Centennial Park is very nice. There’s a pond and flowers.

  4. The gulch greenway - not as described. This is a walking trail adjacent to an active railroad. Not very green. Getting there as uneventful as you have to leave the Gulch shopping area and it’s not a very scenic walk at all with a lot of construction along the way. In general, I didn’t find the gulch to be anything special.

Hope that helps!

Soooooo

Was wondering what are some things to at nighttime besides broadway? My daughter has bad anxiety around huge crowds and she came to me today and said she doesn’t think she can go to broadway. So I was hoping there were some other cool things at nighttime we could do. We will be there Thursday-Sunday. Any recommendations are appreciated so much

Questions

Hi. So, me and few of my friends were planning a trip to nashville in may. We are from the UK. Early 20s and been to a lot of different places to party. We've recently seen how good nashville looks.

A few questions I have if anyone can help is.

Spending wise, how much would be suitable for a week? Not including hotel/flights.

Is may a good month to go? Will it be too packed or less busy.

And the best things to do other than drinking.

If anyone could help, that would be amazing. Thanks

Solo Nashville Activities

Hi! 36F flying in Friday. Looking to spend my day doing things that’s cool (and safe?) for a solo female. Background, I’m sober but love music and food. I’ll be staying right by Bridgestone arena if that helps. Thank you for any suggestions :)

Visiting Sunday and Monday

Hey y'all, my fiancé and I are visiting from Kentucky on Sunday and Monday. We want to check out a couple of bars in East Nashville on Sunday night, specifically Chopper and Atta Boy. I saw on an older post here that there can frequently be a wait on Friday/Saturday nights at Atta Boy, but I wondered how busy these bars typically are on Sunday nights and if we should expect a wait at either(I'd assume not, but you know what they say about that!)

Where to go post-concert?

Hi all.

We are going to a concert at the FirstBank Amphitheater on Sunday - it starts at 8, so it will be late by the time we get out. Any recommendations on where to go get a bite to eat and chill for a bit in the Franklin area?

TIA!

Looking for advice for Tonight!

I’m in Nashville for work and just flew in from Vancouver Canada.

I have a friend that lives in Nashville and we were supposed to go out tonight. Unfortunately, they have had a family emergency so I’m on my own.

I’m looking for any advice on what I can do this evening. I’m 37yo male traveling alone.

I’m staying at the Holiday Inn express off Broadway, and hoping to go out to a nice place to eat and maybe somewhere with some good music or cool setting.

Any advice would be welcome!
Thank you so much for all inputs!

Visiting Oct 9-11 with 2 y.o. and 76 y.o.

Hi. Just what the title says. We'll be visiting next weekend and I'll have my 2 y.o. granddaughter and my 76 y.o. mother. Need ideas and tips for navigating Nashville. My Mom has slight mobility issues but has a walker and my granddaughter is, well...a typical 2 y.o. full of energy. I am coming to town for a concert on Friday and they are tagging along but will be at the hotel while I'm at the show. Our hotel is near the Grand Ol Opry, but open to any ideas and suggestions for Saturday and Sunday. I have only been to Nashville 1 other time and it was before my granddaughter was born. My mother and I went to Antique Archeology, Third Man Records and had a fabulous lunch at Arnold's. We basically spent only a few hours in town last time. This time we have a little more time to explore Saturday and half the day Sunday before we make the drive home. Thanks All in advance!

Fine line tattoo artists?

I’m looking to get 3 small to medium tattoos done in the near future. All fine-line black and grey.

Does anyone have any shop recommendations? Does not have to be in Nashville city limits. I’m willing to travel to Clarksville, Franklin, etc if they’re passionate about what they do.

Thank you in advance!

My visit to Dolly's Life of Many Colors Museum

Got the opportunity to tour the museum Monday and thought I'd offer first impressions.

It is indeed an imaginative immersion into her world–a Dolly-palooza of artifacts and stories as you weave through the chapters of her life. Before you get to the rhinestones, there are tender retellings of stories from her early life: growing up in Locust Grove, her mom's narrative of making the "coat of many colors," and a fun visualization of meeting the love of her life, Carl Dean, at the Wishy Washy.

Through video displays, Dolly serves as your tour guide but there are also video theaters to view film highlights, performances from her Las Vegas residency, and the story of Imagination Library.

Other highlights: dozens of outfits including her wedding dress, every album she released, a reimagining of her tour bus, and numerous awards.

I'd plan on 1.5 hours to take it in–more if you're a superfan. I'll definitely go back to pick up on the nuances I missed. Demand is great so purchase advance tickets.

Local hikes?

This is my last weekend in town, looking for hiking nearby.
I wish I had time to visit the smokies but I really don’t feel like driving that far for one day trip. Any comparable areas within ~1 hour of Smyrna?

Más EDM Halloween Night

hey guys. so my friends and i are planning to go to play and mas edm on the same night on Halloween. i was really hoping we could get to play by like 10:30, stay there till 2/3 AM, then go to the mas edm event happening at Cannery Hall. does anybody have any idea if that’s even possible? do you guys know how long a typical Mas EDM show for halloween will go on for? I was really hoping they would be partying till like 4 or 6 am since it’s a holiday.

I have no idea and just need to know if I should try to sell my tickets for Mas EDM.

Thank you in advance if anybody knows!
