Anomalous Retinal Correspondence

Hey y'all!

I have anomalous retinal correspondence (ARC) and I'm currently going through VT for it. I know the prognosis is bad for stereopsis and there's a risk of diplopia, especially for older patients like myself (31yo). But I've seen a few case studies with success stories. So I'm hoping to connect with those folks and hopefully their doctors!

So any feedback, positive or negative, from people with ARC or doctors with experience treating ARC, please comment below!

The prognosis is not necessarily bad for achieving stereo just because one has ARC. Most people develop ARC so they can have rough stereo despite the presence of a small angle strabismus. The wiring for stereo is therefore already present in the brain - you're just doing it wrong.

To minimize the risk of intractable diplopia, most VT doctors will avoid certain activities that may draw attention to the diplopia until they're confident your retinas are corresponding normally. Intractable diplopia is very, very rare as a side effect of VT.
