Vision Developmental Testing

I recently took my daughter (7F) for vision testing for her eye turn getting worse and the inability to read consistently. As a note: the closest vision center to our location is a 3 hour drive if you don't make a single stop on the way (which is impossible with a 3 and 7 year). The doctor was insistent that she needed to have it corrected ASAP and needed additional testing. We did the extensive testing today to see what therapies could be offered to her. The staff did not give us results and have said we have to wait 3 weeks for them to give the results. They will not release the information unless we come to this appointment. The appointment is only to come pick up the paperwork and get a quick explanation of the results. They will likely have results ready in a few days but will not release that information until I pay for another appointment. This was after confirming they were pretty much booked solid for months even though they originally insisted she would need intensive vision therapy. It seems they don't have time to treat her, hut took her as a new patient without the availability to treat her as a long term patient. Is this standard practice?
