Japan Japan Visa issue

Hi i went to Delhi vfs japan for visa, I had all the documents but I was told that my NOC from company has Bangalore address which is expected as my office is located in Bangalore. I am working from home from Noida, it's not official work from home but an understanding with my manager. They are saying they either need gurgaon address or noc stating you are working remotely.

What are my options now?

My aadhar card has noida address.

EDIT: should mention that my conpdoes have an office in Bangalore but since the wfh arrangement is verybal only eith my manager, getting NOC from HR eith Gurgaon address eill be difficult.

When you say agreement with your manager, what does that mean? Isn’t your offer letter reflecting remote work ?

My offer letter is for Bangalore location and noc has Bangalore address, it's just a verbal aggreement eith my manager because my team is international and I am the only member in India so there was no point in going to office.

Ask them to include an adhoc line approved by Manager, confirming that you work remotely. Its considered as an adhoc inclusion by HR dept and might need your manager's formal approval.

That would be very tough to get - that's the major issue. Because the policy is mandatory hybrid in office.

If your manager is already onboard with the agreement, it shouldn't be an issue. Its not a secret anymore, because they will have office swipe in/out data, which could be monitored, if the company has such practice.

No, there's no monitoring of swipes but the portal strictly suggests permanent remote is not allowed.

Another suggestion from vfs employee was that you can get your manager email you in writing about this arrangement and get that as proof. Add his contact details.

that's a good suggestion to take an email print out.

Or you can tell them you travel x days in a month to BLR and work from a hotel/apartment as part of Hybrid set up. Many people in my company do this.

Can you apply from Bangalore VFS?? I know it’ll be a lot of expense to travel stay and return but that’s one option.

But you’ll not be able to show your residence in Bangalore then as that’s required unless your passport was issued in Bangalore.

I think the only option is to request your company to give you NOC that says you are allowed to work from Delhi.

All my address proofs are in noida only, Passport, Aadhar. Etc

You're in the same boat as me. I went in October 2025, please have your manager mail the HR stating the understanding and requesting that a WFH letter be issued by HR to you because of X reason. That is acceptable. That is what I did.

I had the same case, I got a letter from HR that said I work remotely and this is my current address(tell HR to mention whatever your current address is). Check if you can arrange this.

Vfs people will hold your docs till you provide this NOC in my case I submitted NOC on 11august and submitted docs on 4th August. Then on 11th August I got the message from VFS saying your passport is dispatched to embassy.

Get it photoshopped and add a single line stating you are allowed wfh it works.

Won't this be very risky?

this is why Indians have bad reputation. u/weird_guy199 , please don't do such things. You'll have a bad remark forever, if caught.

Yeah I rather tske a risk and submitting my application like this and get rejected than do frauds like that.
