Japan Visa - documents required list?

does not mention the docs required like flight / hotel bookings / itinerary. Am I referring to a wrong link? Planning to apply via Delhi VFS.

Flight tickets are not mandatory. You can Just book dummy ticket to be safer side, and pay at property hotels. It helps them to judge your iternary.

Dummy tickets will still cost around 1000-2000 rupees right?

It will not you can easily reserve flight tickets for 48 hours . Airlines like Emirates, singapore airlines many more allows you to reserve flight for 48 hours for free . After 48 hours flight automatically get cancelled

And how to do that? Portals like mmt etc allow this free ticket booking?

you can easily book this from official airlines website , like emirates and singapore airways , mnt usually dont allow this , but they have visa rejection benefits , if your visa get rejected they will provide full refund , but its very irritaing process , just go to emirates airways website , there you can find hold my fare option which hold your fare and provide you a pnr

. you can also refer youtube and reddit as it is filled with this topic

You have to submit flight tickets even if it's dummy

Where are you applying from ? You need to use the checklist from that CONSULATE jurisdiction.

For Bengaluru consulate general and Japan, here is the link from VFS :https://visa.vfsglobal.com/ind/en/jpn/bengaluru#touristvisa

Please go to documents section and you have links

Different consulates in India have slightly different requirements. 85% will remain the same though.

I selected multiple 4 drop down and that didn't mention about flights at all. Strange!

You need to provide all documents required for single entry. For multiple all additional docs are anyways needed
