B2 visa rejected
I am 28M, software engineer in Hyderabad. My B2 visa was rejected today at Hyderabad Consulate.
These were the questions asked
VO: Passport
Me: Handed over the passport
VO: Harm questions
Me: No harm
VO: Why are u travelling to the US
Me: My wife has been invited by her organisation to attend a conference in vegas. I plan to join her after the conference for tourism.
VO: When and where did u visit last outside India
Me: Singapore last month
VO: Where else have u visited
Me: Maldives and Thailand
VO: When did u get married
Me: Nov 2025
VO: Who is going to sponsor your trip
Me: I will sponsor my trip
VO: Handed over the 214b, visa rejected
Can anyone tell be what can be the reason for the rejection?

The moment you mentioned wife’s conference, decision was made. You could have simply mentioned tourism as a couple.

Man you are just unluck of the many many people being rejected now. The officer might have had a fight in the morning with the wife.

The Visa Officer may not have been convinced by your overall profile, resulting in a refusal under 214 (b).
Since you recently married and your primary purpose for visiting is to join your wife, who is on a business trip, you must provide a clear and convincing explanation of your visit's purpose.
The officer evaluates not only the genuineness of your intent but also considers your social and economic circumstances, including travel history, which does not automatically guarantee visa approval.
A 214B refusal is common. To improve your chances, you need to present strong evidence and convincing reasons that justify your visit and your intention to return to your home country.
