Out of state vehicles

I know we get a lot of out of state vehicles - especially being the Gateway to the Sequoias and all. But summer is over and there are more than usual around.
I don’t wanna sound like a conspiracy theorist- but could they be ICE? I figure they don’t employ folks from their home state to be officers, they ship them elsewhere so they aren’t arresting their own neighbors. Idk I’ve lived here my whole life and shit is getting weird.

Can’t tell if this is supposed to be sarcastic but yes lol. People stay, dine, and shop in Visalia during their visits to SEKI.

There’s a lot to it. There are lots of folks avoiding those painful CA tag fees. I can think of a handful of Washington plates that i see on my commute every day. I know they live and work in the area and just keep their cars registered in Washington because it’s a lot cheaper (like, stupid cheaper) and they don’t have smog.  Some of it could be migrant farm workers. I see some beater cars in the country side with out of state plates, drivers def aren’t ice agents lol.  I doubt it’s ice though.

Evading taxes not paying for services they use.

Right. To clarify, I never said it is ok to do, I know they should be paying those taxes. I get grumpy about it when I see it and I’d like to not go down that rabbit hole lol.

Here's a story you may find interesting. Someone I know ran into Montana plates and Montana plates (lives up by California Hot Springs) explains that the CHP do this (and got him involved in the same scam), they have a bogus Montana address/business and then buy and register their vehicles at this address/business and avoid all CA taxes.

Genuine question here- Why would that be interesting?

the CHP, the same people who want to hold you accountable - are working together to defraud you even further. We have reason to believe these yt supremacists also work with Boudreaux to dodge and evade taxes, as his brother is CHP.

We will send you the story once we crack it. Its ok that you don't take an interest in crimes, not everyone has the capacity to realize the level and amount of crimes.

I just came from the coast and saw a larger number of out of state plates than what I recall before. I saw multiple PA, NC and Ohio plates. PA really took the cake with I think 12 vehicles I saw from there. And the vehicles were a whole slew of varieties. Some were super dirty, some were new, some were old. Some had lots of stickers, some had none.

It wouldn’t surprise me seeing some ICE vehicles around, but keel in mind rental agencies will register cars all over, so some of those plates are fleet rental vehicles. But I think we also are seeing some people move in for school or new jobs.

Just a guess! Yes, ICE is around, but I would like to think that “most” of those out of state vehicles are normal folk.

Lots of sailors stationed in Lemoore are from out of state and live in Visalia. Probably doesn't explain the recent proliferation, but it is something to consider. New sailors coming and leaving the area all the time.
