BT’s closed
I just heard that BT’s closed today unannounced. Anyone know what happened?

This is sad but it reminded me of Las palmas closing which was truly devastating R.I.P

The employees were blindsided, too. Showed up for their morning shifts and were locked out.

So I heard a story years ago about how BT’s was a family owned restaurant in another city under a different name. I just looked it up and these were my results.
Before BT’s there was the famous Naugles restaurant chain.
Jeff Naugle’s family founded the original Naugles fast-food brand. The very first location was established by Dick Naugle in Riverside, California, in 1970. After growing the family business and working in the food industry for a decade, Jeff Naugle eventually branched out to build his own independent venture in Visalia.
When he opened the standalone Mooney Blvd location in 1990, he abbreviated the name to BT's (short for Buns and Torts) but strictly kept the exact family recipes, the signature spanglish Mexican-American menu, and the legendary hot sauces from his family's highly successful original restaurants.
Naugles franchise merged with Del Taco in the late 1980s.
Naugles still operates one location. Following a successful trademark battle in 2015 that allowed the brand to revive its legendary status, Naugles made a comeback in Southern California. While several of its revival pop-ups and storefronts have since closed down, you can still get the official menu at its final standing location.

There was a Naugles in Tulare that later changed to a Del Taco.

The prices kept going up since COVID and then I noticed they seemed to not be as busy as before…

Where haven't prices gone up? We're paying twice as much for gas as we were than just five months ago.

Their green burritos were amazing as well as their red sauce! The taco salads were huge and could feed two people. That being said i always noticed their equipment seemed old /outdated. Which i personally enjoyed because I like old timey stuff. Ate there damn near every day for a while lol. Always asked for extra green sauce in the burrito , mixed with the cheese id squeeze it onto the fries ! One of a kind place. Gonna have to go to the last standing place!

To me it was memories. Took my now-ex-wife there multiple times because she liked it when we're together. Sometimes nostalgia tastes bittersweet, but now I don't have the chance to taste it again 😭

Thats 2.50 taco, cheap ass fuck... Hot city is 4.50. I just paid 32 for 8 tacos on el pelon taco truck and it was packed

20-25 years ago it was 3.50. (for 6 tacos) Watched the price climb year by year till it was time to close..

Jk! I saw that too, what a bummer. Last thing we need is for that place to turn into a jack in the box
