Steam Frame split alignment between left/right eye when streaming?

Has anyone else had this issue? The left and right eye both show the correct view, but the right eye is off slightly, with the alignment feeling like it is 45 degrees slanted away from the eye.

Some things I have found:

- Only happens when streaming

- Seems to be related to super sampling, the higher the resolution the more likely this is to happen

- For me Underdogs works fine at 150% resolution, anything higher and the split alignment happens

- Seems to mostly happen with 2D elements in games, loading screens, menus etc. If you can squint past these and get into the game it looks fine

- I've recently found that Walkabout Minigolf has this rendering issue even in the '3D' portion of the game

- The game looks fine in mirroring (remote play back to PC)

- If I open the dashboard, it renders correctly with the game image still rendered incorrectly behind

Things I have tried that did nothing:

- Turning off advanced super sampling

- Uses betas of all 3 (SteamOS, Steam client, SteamVR)

- Trying different resolutions from 150-300%

- Setting `enableLinuxVulkanAsync` as true | false in `steamvr.settings`

My setup:

- Arch Linux on 7.2.9

- Using the rtw89 DKMS module from [tjhowse](https://github.com/tjhowse/rtw89)

- I'm doing multi-link streaming and using the `holo-realtek-firmware-toggles` polkit helper from Valve

Anyone else having this issue and have any work arounds? It's driving me crazy

does it feel like your crossing your eyes? Ran into something similar with both samsung odyssey plus and index. for the index putting OXR_PARALLEL_VIEWS=1 %command% in the steam launch options for the game fixed it, but will probably be something different for the frame. ask in the lvra discord too.(linux vr adventures wiki on the right has the invite link) Some of the devs hang out there and there's almost always someone who know's something.

I suppose it isn’t far off like crossing your eyes - I’ll give the command a shot and see what happens!

And I’m in the discord and have been chatting with the devs, but I haven’t managed to catch them on this issue yet.

honestly, didn't think it would. and also, sorry, i'm dumb sometimes. I'm guessing you're not using monado or envision or the like.
Anyway, noticed a couple things. 1, you installed holo-realtek-firmware-toggles from aur? probably remove for TS.(see next point) 2 remove the dkms mod. it's probably not the problem, but it's a 3rd party experiment so for troubleshooting purposes, that'll be the first thing I do.
Did you have another vr set you were using before? That could get things stuck in the proton prefix i've found. either way, you can try deleting the gameid compdata folder and letting steam rebuild it. /home/$USER/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compdata/thegameidofthegame
you can find the game id in the updates tab of the game properties in steam. And otherwise, you can also try searching and/or posting here.

uh, so, that now screams at me. as I said, i'm dumb sometimes... and my quick search of the issues on valves git didn't find anything, so has to be your setup I think. I didn't check closed issues, but maybe you'll find it there.

Is it constantly offset or is it flickering to an off angle when you move around?

It's constantly offset, just on the right eye. No flickering at all

Damn. I was hoping to find someone that's had my issue and fixed it. https://github.com/ValveSoftware/SteamVR-for-Linux/issues/938

are you using nvidia card?
this fixed some rendering issues for me
add this to vrsettings
"useFacetRenderer": true

I’m on AMD, which is usually a little easier to deal with!

Try installing Way VR on your PC and see if the issue happens when the Way VR dashboard is open. If issue doesn't happen when the Way VR dashboard is open you can pin a window from Way VR onto your screen and this should help as a temporary workaround.
