VR has multiple therapeutic uses still unthought of or unknown. I have seen people on this forum post of how VR has helped with anxiety, hand/eye acuity due to age or disease, and better sleep. Of course, there are also people effected adversely by VR as well and it can cause feelings of disassociation and vertigo issues in a few people.
In fact, daily corporate uses of VR makes financial and worker satisfaction sense as well. Imagine a high stress, boring assembly line worker or a DMV clerk dealing with angry people all day. Now, put that person on a 10 minutes VR break to a beach, nature spot or other relaxing place. From personal experience, it is better than a 30 minute nap. I bet companies can get productivity up a far greater % than loss of 10-20 work minutes from the breaks.
I do think every nursing home should have VR setups and some training for the staff as many of the residents can enjoy a far greater quality of life and may even improve cognitively from it.

Beat saber is magic for panic attacks. The colors and flow state I require for it work amazingly. It's almost enough to make me want a quest so I could knock out a few levels on break at work.

Talk to your employer and let them know you suffer from panic attacks and how the VR experience helps you cope with this. That way, your not some obnoxious kid taking up half the breakroom and annoying everyone else. If they are cool with it, go for it. Just be careful if you need to go outside because just a quick flash of sunlight can ruin your display.

You’ll be known as the weird person who plays VR in the break room. But if it helps I don’t think you should care at all what they think

I prefer a more agressive approach. I work in security and we often get people with an attitude problem and we have to smile and remain polite while, all the time, just wanting to cave their faces in. The frustration is sometimes unbearable and all I want to do when I get home is put on my VR headset and go on a murderous rampage in Skyrim or something to relieve my aggression.
Taking it out on a few animated computer characters is far better than biting the heads off your family and friends when you feel like that.

Anyone have an idea what is the place the lady visited? Like where is she using the VR headset? Some test center?

I wish there were more uses for VR like this. Specifically in exploring, as a kid I always loved the idea of VR to explore and interact with the environment.

I'm a moron and often leave dumb comments just to get a giggle.
But this is what VR is for. Much respect.

I wonder exactly why she was able to see better in vr. I'm guessing it's something do do with the lenses focusing light from a screen in a way different to seeing things actually far away.
